Ms. Barbara Bilgre

MYP Coordinator, CAS Coordinator, ESS Facilitator (Secondary)

Barb Bilgre, the new MYP and CAS Coordinator at ARIS, has spent her career in Education teaching Secondary School. She is a science teacher specializing in the Life Sciences (Biology and Environmental Science). In addition, Ms. Barb is a wildlife biologist.

She has been a secondary school teacher since 2001, with the majority of her experiences at international schools. She has taught IBDP, IBMYP, IGCSE and AP programs as well as been responsible for developing elective curriculum for a variety of science courses. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Ms. Barb has been a lead year-level student advisor for PSHE programs and has been implementing CAS and Service Learning projects in her classes and as extracurricular work in the schools where she has taught.

Ms. Barb also studied wild populations of dolphins and manatees for 9 1/2 years in Belize, French Polynesia and Midway Atoll before becoming a teacher and is currently working on a long-term collaborative project with the Ghana Forestry Commission on the photoidentification and population genetics of African elephants at Mole National Park here in Ghana.
