MFL Arabic Students Tutor AIS Students (CAS)

Feb 3, 2016

On the 29th of January 2016, the students of IB1 Arabic went to the American International School to tutor students who had chosen Arabic to learn as a new language. These are multicultural students and they are enthusiastic and excited to be learning the language which gives them the confidence to communicate with others.

These tutorial sessions are part of the Creativity, Activity, Service requirement at the core of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. The ARIS students had many questions to ask of the AIS students; one of the inquiries was “To what extent do you think language can be positive in our lives?” Their answers varied; each student had a different reason as to why he or she had chosen to learn Arabic. This should be the start of a very rewarding exchange of ideas.
