Code of Conduct

ARIS promotes the principle that no one has the right to interfere selfishly with other people, other people’s property and other people’s time. ARIS encourages an attitude of individual responsibility to the quality of life in the school community.

The code of conduct expected from ARIS students rests on three basic elements:

  • respect for oneself
  • respect for others
  • respect for one’s own and others’ property.

All school rules and regulations, written and unwritten, are logical extensions of these three basic elements, and are explained to and shared with students in those terms.

It is expected that students themselves innovate and develop rule-governed behaviours and thereby contribute to the well-being of the ARIS community through personal example. The Student Representative Council (SRC) is a more formal means whereby the interests of students can be coordinated to fulfil this expectation.
