UNIVERSITY AND CAREER GUIDANCE
The ARIS University and Career Guidance Counselling Programme is a comprehensive, developmental program designed to assist students in making and implementing informed educational and occupational choices. This programme seeks to provide developmental and systematic support to each student to ensure their academic, career, personal and social development and achievement. The counsellors are professional school advocates who provide proactive and preventative support to maximize student potential.
The programmes and interventions offered to students are delivered collaboratively with school staff, families and community members to provide seamless transitions to each student’s next steps.
The ultimate goal of our programmes is that each student from ARIS will transition smoothly to the next level of education with a clear sense of direction as to which career to pursue, which subjects to study and eventually graduate with personal, academic and career-related skills and knowledge to make responsible decisions and to contribute to society positively.
The department serves as a “one-stop-shop” for all its students by providing them with these services:
- University and Career selection processes
- Applications for admissions and scholarships
- Accommodation advice
- Visa counselling
- External examinations (ACT/SAT/IELTS/TOEFL)
- Pre-departure briefing
- Exchange programmes
- Internships
- University tours
- Guest speakers and lectures
The ARIS University and Career Guidance Department uses Unifrog, a comprehensive and globally recognised platform that supports students in making informed academic, career, and post-secondary decisions. Through Unifrog, students access global university and scholarship research, career exploration tools, and psychometric assessments that help them identify their interests, strengths, and personality traits. The platform enables students to connect their subject choices, extracurricular involvement, and personal experiences to future pathways. Our guidance programme is developmental and cohort-based, ensuring that students receive age-appropriate support at every stage of their secondary education:
Year 9: Students focus on self-discovery and career awareness, completing psychometric assessments and exploring a broad range of career pathways to support informed subject selection.
Year 10: Students deepen their career and subject alignment by researching pathways, skills, and qualifications, while also beginning to record experiences and reflections on Unifrog.
Year 11: Students engage in pathway clarification and early post-secondary planning, exploring universities and programmes, developing their activity profiles, and preparing for future applications.
Year 12: Students receive advanced guidance in university and scholarship applications, including university shortlisting, CV building, personal statement development, activity listing, and requesting teacher recommendations.
Year 13: Students' application and transition stage. Students lock their final list, submit applications, record offers & scholarships, and attend transition workshops.
Unifrog also enables counsellors to track individual student progress, provide personalised guidance, and collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and families. Data from the platform supports informed decision-making and ensures students are well prepared for university, career pathways, and life beyond school.
