Janmashtami was celebrated with fun and fervour in Al Rayan International School.

The excitement was in the air and everyone was curious. The event started with the parents performing a Bollywood dance which was enjoyed by all. The students then performed the childish pranks of the Krishna and his love for eating butter. This was followed by ‘ Dahi Handi’ which commemorates the innocence of childhood.


‘Dahi Handi’ is a tradition followed in the western part of India where a human pyramid is made to break a pot which is hung high. Teachers and students rehearsed the Human Pyramid and were able to coordinate and take the goodies in the pot making a almost-perfect-dahi-handi.

The event got everyone enthusiastic and it ended by distribution of laddoos, (an Indian Delicacy).



All are now awaiting the next big celebration….EID-AL-ADHA
