Year 1A Trip to Remember: India's 68th Republic Day Celebration







The Year 1 students Unit of Inquiry is all about celebrations. Where and how people celebrate, it was a perfect time for a trip to see the India Republic Day Celebration at India House.

A colourful flag hoisting ceremony was held on 26 January 2017 at the India House, to mark the 68th Republic Day of India.

The High Commissioner, Shri Birender Singh read out the honorable President of India’s address to the nation, followed by cultural performances by visiting dance group; Lok Chanda Cultural Unit from India, and various international schools.
The marvelous cultural show had the audience mesmerized. Songs and skits were performed by students from ARIS, DPS and Roman Ridge.

The Ghana Police Central Band also played a piece along with the India National Anthem.

Several ARIS students were awarded prizes by the High Commissioner for a essay, poem and song competition last week.
