Wolf vs Pigs, Who's Telling the Real Story?

May 8, 2018

D.E.A.R (Drop Everything and Read) Monday at ARIS was nothing short of a confusing and enlightening experience for the Reception students that even sparked up a debate!

Our Admission and Communication Manager was the Guest Reader in the Reception classroom this morning, and she read the little ones quite the story. A different version of ‘The Three Little Pigs’ that tells the story from the Wolf’s point of view got the class to really ponder about the story that they had been listening to.

As adults, we often say that there is always two sides to the same story, and giving a benefit of the doubt. Hearing the story of the Wolf in the Three Little Pigs, the children sparked up a debate where some were in favor of the Wolf’s reasoning for destroying the Pigs’ houses and eating them, while others were on the opposite side.

The Wolf’s legit reasoning, of huffing and puffing, because he had a flu was good enough to get our students to be open minded about this perspective. Their own points of views also showed how much they care, and how receptive and thoughtful they are about, not just the wolf’s perspective but all others in their learning journey.

Reading really is a beautiful journey! Keep reading everyone!
