PYPX 2022: How We Express Ourselves!

Apr 27, 2022

The years spent in Primary School for our PYP Year 6 Eagles all come down to this day, the PYP Exhibition.

Today, the PYP Year 6 Eagles presented what they had worked on not only for the past 2 months but for their entire PYP life, in music, presentations, poetry, culture and food. This year's PYP Exhibition focused on "How We Express Ourselves", and the students took this advantage to explore pertinent real life ways and means of expressing themselves. The Eagles were broken down into 6 big themes of expression; Fashion, Music, Technology, Sports, Literature and Food!

Clad in their beautiful exhibition t-shirts, the PYP Eagles started off by putting up a welcome performance on stage for their parents and facilitators, and telling them about their various groups and what they should expect in the presentations. They talked about the different modes of expressing themselves and encouraged parents to take time and go through each presentation.

Soon enough, they were done with the welcome performance, and parents went up to each presentation room to observe and see the work that our fantastic eagles had put together.
The different rooms labeled Food, Fashion, Literature, Music, Sports and Technology were beautifully decorated according to the themes, and in these rooms, the students explained in detail the reasons why they chose their various themes, discussed issues related to the themes such as evolution of expression, benefits and how to use these modes effectively. They also briefed their parents and audience on the role each group member played in ensuring the success of their presentation.

To make sure that the audience understood their presentations, the eagles spiced it up with some online games, answering questions related to their various topics. Feedback was collected from the audience who reflected on what they had learned from the Eagles.

It was a great success, and we are very proud of the work these young eagles put up.

MYP is definitely ready for you, Eagles! Congratulations
