On the evening of May 31st, 2025, ARIS proudly celebrated the Graduation Ceremony of the Class of 2025, a remarkable group of students whose resilience, growth, and achievements left a lasting mark on our school community. We were honoured by the presence of the Former Second Lady of Ghana, H.E. Samira Bawumia, who joined in celebrating the graduation of her son as part of the ARIS Class of 2025, a proud moment for the entire community. Even our beloved ARIS mascot, Captain Blaze, joined the festivities, cheering on our graduates and adding a spirited touch to the celebration!
The event began with the arrival of proud families, friends, and distinguished guests, followed by the formal procession of faculty and graduates.
The ceremony opened with the Ghana National Anthem, sung by Naa Adjeley Adjei and a warm welcome from the Class Representatives Zeynep Sureyya Kiyci and Jawad Hallal.
ARIS Director, Dr Fatma Odaymat, delivered an inspiring address, followed by heartfelt speeches from ARIS alumna Nouha Hamoui, Class of 2018, and the Class of 2025 student speaker, Collins Katako.
Soulful student performances by Lea Safwan and Mariarosaria De-Matteis added joy and artistry to the occasion.
The evening also featured a keynote address by the Guest of Honour, Poetra Asantewa, “You are already someone,” she said. “And what you do with your gifts today matters.” She urged graduates to persist even when uncertain, to honour their ideas, and to build with resilience. Her message resonated deeply: that every sketch, every idea, and every effort they make today plants the seeds of a legacy that can outlive them and uplift their communities. Ama’s presence and words were a celebration of imagination, growth, and the power of starting where you are.
Followed by thoughtful teacher tributes, and the highlight of the ceremony, the presentation of diplomas and awards to our IBDP and IBCP graduates, including a special AISA Award presented to Queenstar Ackah.
As the sun set, the ARIS Board Chairman, Mr Hazem Chalabi, addressed the graduating class, followed by a vibrant performance by the BLEND. In a touching moment, the class rep presented an appreciation gift to the band in recognition of their talent and dedication.
The Head of School, Madame Alpana Mukherjee, then delivered the vote of thanks before the official declaration of graduates by the DP and CP Coordinators.
With confetti in the air and caps soaring high, the Class of 2025 marked the start of their next chapter.
The ceremony closed with a joyful recessional and photo opportunities, capturing memories of an evening filled with pride, unity, and celebration.
A heartfelt thank you to the ARIS Band and Dance Troupe for their electrifying performances, which brought energy, rhythm, and celebration to the Graduation Ceremony.
A special thanks to the ARIS Ushers, whose grace, professionalism, and attention to detail ensured the event ran smoothly and made every guest feel warmly welcomed.
Congratulations, ARIS Class of 2025!
We wish you all the best in your future endeavours. Once an Eagle, always an Eagle. Stay Connected!
