Creativity, innovation, and collaboration came together in an exciting way as our MYP Year 9 (MYP-3) Design students brought their Compact Living unit to life. Moving beyond theory, students transformed real-world design constraints into imaginative solutions and took on an ambitious challenge: building a miniature model of ARIS Block D.
Following a site visit to measure, observe, and sketch, students organised themselves into specialised teams responsible for precision cutting, painting and finishing, 3D modelling, and lighting design. Using the school’s laser cutter and 3D printer, they prototyped components before assembling the final model. To ensure the project was completed within the timeframe, the final assembly was supported by their facilitator, bringing together every element of the students’ work.
The project concluded with a meaningful addition: a Wall of Fame celebrating every student contributor from 9A and 9B, along with a special recognition of their facilitator who guided the process.
This model represents far more than a construction project. It reflects collaboration, design thinking, creativity, and innovation in action, demonstrating how ARIS students turn ideas into impactful creations.
