Strengthening Enrichment at ARIS: Professional Learning with Anita Churchville

ARIS had the pleasure of welcoming Anita Churchville to campus for 2 full days of collaboration, classroom observations, and professional learning focused on strengthening enrichment practices across our programmes.

We began with a strategic leadership meeting with Dr Fatma Odaymat, divisional principals, and academic leaders, where discussions centred on advancing enrichment and differentiation across the school. This was followed by collaborative sessions with PYP and MYP facilitators, exploring how enrichment can be meaningfully embedded into unit planning.

Anita observed classrooms across the Primary Years Programme, engaging with facilitators and students to better understand how inquiry, challenge, and support are integrated into everyday learning experiences.

She focused on practical strategies for enrichment in the Middle Years Programme and High School, including approaches such as curriculum compacting, tiered instruction, and teaching up to meet the needs of diverse learners. Teachers worked collaboratively to reflect on current practices, set goals, and identify ways to further enhance student learning.

This visit provided a valuable opportunity for reflection, collaboration, and professional growth, reinforcing ARIS’s commitment to innovative teaching and continuous improvement. Experiences like this support our Vision 2030 commitment that ARIS Innovates and ARIS Leads, empowering educators to create meaningful learning experiences that challenge and inspire every student.
