Ghana's Independence Day in ARIS

Mar 6, 2015

Independence Day Celebrations in ARIS saw an array of colourful activities. A day when the entire school rose above personal interests to put Ghana first and celebrate an achievement, which distinguished our motherland 58 years ago. It all started with an enthralling presentation themed, “Ghana’s Journey to Independence” during morning assembly, which offered students the opportunity to find out about events that transpired during the colonial rule in Ghana’s history.

Students of all nationalities were elegantly dressed in Ghanaian traditional clothing to symbolise the preservation of the rich Ghanaian culture in our school and to remember the struggles of our forefathers and their relentless efforts that have made it possible to celebrate this important day.

“Ghana” was the talk of the day through teaching, classroom and break-time discussions while merriments continued through out the day with an abundance of picture-taking and story-telling as we braced for a week-long celebration.

FROM ARIS, WE SAY “AYEKOO GHANA” !
