Where We Are In Place And Time, What Type Of House Do You Live In?

The year one’s first unit of inquiry is under the theme of Where We Are in Place and Time, the Big Idea is ‘Homes’.

The pupils investigated why and how people make their homes the way they do, and what materials they use to make their homes.

The learners gathered different materials from home and used them to make houses that you would find around the world.

The unit encouraged the pupils to think about why homes are made out of certain materials, depending on the geographical location.
