Model United Nations

Oct 24, 2015

On Saturday, October 24, 2015 Lifelink Friendship Schools in partnership with the UN system in Ghana and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a Model United Nations (MUN) Conference at the Accra International Conference Centre. Eight delegates from the ARIS MUN club participated in this event representing different countries:

Saeda Agongo – Delegate of Suriname
Alshyma Elamin – Delegate of Niger
Rama El Hassan – Delegate of Macedonia
Miko Kojo Gloge – Delegate of Costa Rica
Khaled Karoum – Delegate of Liberia
Hamadi Briamah – Delegate of Philippines
Yasmin Alfa – Delegate of the United States of America
Fidaus Alfa – Delegate of Saudi Arabia

All our delegates actively participated in all deliberations and performed remarkably well considering the fact that they had just been through only three weeks of training. At the end of the conference, Hamadi Braimah was awarded the overall best male delegate out of over 160 delegates present. He was also awarded the best delegate from Asia. In addition, Yasmin Alfa was awarded as one of the best delegates for Latin America. Based on their outstanding contribution to discussions at the conference, they have been selected to officially participate at the MUN international Conference in New York in 2016, with a portion of the expenses paid for. We are so proud of their achievement!
