Computing: We are Animators

Jan 3, 2016

Year 3: animating a piece of literature in integration with PYP: How We Express Ourselves. In integration with their PYP unit “How We Express Ourselves”, Year 3 pupils animated a piece of literature: Little Red Riding Hood.

To start the project, pupils broke the story down into a storyboard of six scenes, after which, they used the Paint package to illustrate and edit their characters. Using Scratch 2.0 to animate their story, they experimented with different types of scripting blocks, enabling them to program their characters to move, talk, and change the way they look. Working on this animation, the learners developed their collaboration, thinking, and most importantly their programming skills.
