Over the past 2 weeks, the playgroup children have been learning about African and Indian cultures. We were interested in the celebratory aspects of these cultures which is in relation to our unit on 'Celebrations'. The children learned about the importance people attached to the celebrations as well as the symbols associated with the celebrations. During this period, the classroom was adorned with different materials and artifacts from these cultures. We played games from Africa and India before we engaged in food tasting.
