Secondary Diwali Celebration

Nov 9, 2016

ARIS students and staff learned all about Diwali during the morning assembly. With Ms. Rhea Ramani from year 9 on the microphone the event flowed flawlessly. The celebration brought joy and enthusiasm throughout the length of the assembly.

PSA parents kicked off the festivities with a brief introduction to the Diwali Festival, followed by a presentation by Rhea Ramani and Anik Mukherjee.

Anoushka Chavan was stunning and delightful to watch, as she performed a traditional Diya dance. A group of year 8 students recited poetry, followed by an electric Indian Folk dance by year 7 students.

The closing of the event was organized by Madame Gloria, (Music Department) with a special Musical Performance by Rushita, Basshar, Mouayad and Jai. PSA parents brought Indian food and sweets to share with the students and staff. What an amazing treat!

The IB endeavors to provide a holistic approach to education and wishes that there is respect towards every culture. We in ARIS are celebrating festivals so the students learn to be open-minded and appreciate the diversity in our school.

It is always exciting to share cultures and traditions in this wonderful multi-cultural environment.
