Language Fiesta 2017

The Language Fiesta was celebrated at the secondary school by the Modern Foreign Language Department.

Different songs, dances and activities were performed by the students. The event was enjoyed by all.

From our ancestors preferences to our generation's, year 10 did a wonderful performance to show how music has evolutionized throughout the years.

WE ALL MAY BE DIFFERENT KIND OF FISH, BUT IN THIS SCHOOL WE SWIM TOGETHER.

During their weekly assembly students at ARIS stood up this morning February 1, 2017 to celebrate not only diversity but togetherness. Below, is a comment from a year 9 student:

As we all know, ARIS is a school of cultural diversity and is working on becoming even more diverse. ARIS give students a choice of 3 languages to choose from which include French, Spanish and Arabic. On February 1, we had our own Language Fiesta in order to motivate students to see these subjects as more than subjects but languages.
ARIS students showed their talents in many different ways: plays, mimes, raps, songs, dances and many more. The program was very educative and funny at the same time. The “Zimbabweans Brothers” (a musical group in Year 8) gave an original performance of a rap song which impersonated teachers at ARIS and left many laughing to tears. It set a happy mood for the day. Year 10 also performed a dance and Year 9 offered a play. Then we had a quiz about francophone world followed a silent play by Year 11.

The program ended with students tasting different food from different countries. All in all it was a fun and educative assembly.
