MUN Mock

Feb 24, 2017

The MUN club held its first formal simulation of the Security Council solely organized by club member. Even the Chair, Director, and Rapporteur had gotten their jobs for the very first time!

The committee addressed the topic: “Threats to International Peace and Security caused by terrorist acts”, which is currently a very important problem in the world, and is affecting policy makers. After the presentation of a few position papers, a delegate moved for a moderated caucaus on the effects of terrorism on children.

First time delegates who were still adjusting to the rules of procedure, were out of order countless times. Other delegates were forced to rush through their position papers because of their decision to keep the speaker’s time at one minute.

Notwithstanding, the delegates had a lot of fun learning from their mistakes and are looking forward to an intense debate this Thursday. We welcome all student observers!
