Founder's Day Celebration

Happy Founders Day From ARIS!

It is Founders Day tomorrow in Ghana- Founders Day is a national public holiday observed in Ghana to mark the birthday of Ghana's first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and the founding fathers of Ghana. It is celebrated on September 21 of every year.

We, at ARIS celebrated it in many different ways- Yesterday, September 19th, our Primary Years Programme students expressed themselves by creating a beautiful “Ghana flag” inspired wall- where they wrote little inspiring notes on why they loved Ghana. Today, September 20th, our Primary Years Programme students celebrated with a drumming and performance ceremony.

The event begun with the singing of the Ghana National Anthem and reciting of the ARIS pledge, and was followed by our students and faculty expressing themselves through dance, poetry and art.
The important day was also used to acknowledge and recognize all winners of the ‘Show and Tell’ and ‘Art’ competitions that had taken place three weeks ago.
