World Oral Health Day 2018

Mar 20, 2018

With today being World Oral Health Day, it seemed vital for us to teach our little ARIS Eaglets the importance of brushing their teeth at least 2 times in a day to maintain proper dental hygiene. We are reminiscent of the more occasional than not comment of “Brush your teeth, kids!” After experiencing my first cavity, I did not need to be told anymore.

Nevertheless, the Dentist doesn’t always have to be scary. To raise awareness on oral health and the prevention of oral diseases, Colgate dentists visited our school and distributed 2 toothbrushes and Colgate toothpaste to each pupil in each class. Of course, it was an exciting time for the children to also chose which color toothbrush they wanted, some wanted pink, while others wanted green, while some others wanted blue! The Dentist present got all the students engaged as he went across the classes and asked them to tell him how many times it is advisable to brush your teeth. Oral health is as important as anything else. Just as they say, healthier mouths, happier lives!

As the distribution drew to a close, in each class, our students seemed to be very well aware on how to flash the typical Colgate smile, when we took pictures. Some even went ahead to show us how they actually brush their teeth.

A very interactive and adorable session with our PYP kids to really engage them in all aspects of taking care of themselves. Brush your teeth, kids!
