Emotional Flashcards

May 3, 2018

French Integration could not have been more fun for our Nursery students last week, as they learnt through play! During their French Integration lesson, the students were taken out onto the compound, as the instructor stuck Flash Cards with different emoticons that represent various emotions like – happy, scared, nervous, sad, angry and so on.

The unit is ‘How We Express Ourselves’ with the Big Idea being - ‘Play’. The Central Idea of this being that through ‘Play’, students are able to express their feelings and ideas and they are able to come to new understandings. Our Nursery Students were interactive and were happy to participate as they identified the face to the emotion that the teacher said out in French.

Not only does that help them connect and reflect on emotions and feelings, which make up an important part of their overall learning process; but they also are able to learn essential words and emotions in French, which they will be able to now incorporate into their speaking of French and their overall communication and reflective skills!
