Who loves Dumplings?

May 17, 2018

Who loves Dumplings!! This morning, Chinese families came into the Playgroup Classroom and made YUMMY Dumplings. And I do mean Yummy! Kids at an early age can be a little fussy with their eating but today they gobbled up the delicious dumplings!

Parents had come in and set up everything. They brought the filling, set up an induction stove and brought all ingredients needed to make the dough together with the students involved. Remember when we (at least some of us) used to play the kitchen game? Today, the little ones ate up the dumplings knowing that not only had they learnt something new but they had helped make it. Almost like tasting the fruits of your labor.

Moreover, dumpling making as a community is a major part of Chinese culture, making today’s activity one that was rich in the telling of cultures and traditions. The value of International Mindedness should indeed start from a very young age, and Playgroup is doing just that as the students learn about different cultures every week.
