Collaboration plays a key role in the day to day workings of ARIS

Collaboration plays a key role in the day to day workings of ARIS. Our Counseling and Support Department collaborated well with our P.E Department at the Primary School, during their Curriculum Review Meet.

Facilitators in the P.E Department with our Head of Counseling and Support, Dr. Funke and SENCO, Mr. Emmanuel, were using the scope and sequence of the curriculum and fusing it in with Physical Education. As for example, how can PE Facilitators interact with Support Students? How can students with Autism develop Physical and Social Skills during a Physical Education Lessons.

Physical Education has numerous benefits for Support Students. Not only does it positively impact physical improvements through flexibility, hand eye coordination and motor skills, but also boosts their confidence and also has positive behavioral and attitude improvements.

Our Support Department will now put in their students’ IEP (Individualized Education Plan), all the things they would like their students to achieve in relation to PE.
