Our Early Years Classes – Playgroup, Nursery and Reception had their ‘Rhyme Time’

Oct 19, 2018

Our Early Years Classes – Playgroup, Nursery and Reception had their ‘Rhyme Time’ Event today!

Just like the Poetry Parade for the older PYP Students at Primary, last week, our Early Years students also organized their own version of it, through famous Nursery Rhymes, that we all know and love. Saying that it was the cutest event at our PYP Campus, so far would be an understatement!

There is something nostalgic about Nursery Rhymes, that no matter how old we grow, we remember them word for word. It could be the catchy tune and the rhyming words, but it’s also the positive messages behind them and the unifying theme across all Nursery Rhymes.

More so, among the Early Years, Nursery Rhymes are the driving tool for Literacy Integration as the students learn new words and explore their Vocabulary and Language Skills/Multilingualism, especially in a multicultural environment like ARIS!

Our littlest ones came up on stage per class, and recited or performed through dances, skits, and actions the Nursery Rhymes that they have learnt or practiced through the past couple of weeks! It was so colorful with all the decorations and the creativity in all of the children’s costumes!

Plus, coming up on stage at such an early age is no easy feat, and is a big boost of confidence!

Some of the Rhymes performed were: Hey Diddle Diddle; The Wheels on the Bus; Baby Shark. There were also Nursery Rhymes from other languages like French, Arabic and Hindi to bring more of a multicultural and international touch to our Early Years Rhyme Time Event!

Well, enough talking, go ahead and watch all the cuteness we have documented for you!
