PYP Reception Food Market Role Play - Unit Integration

Our Early Years Reception class work diligently and excitedly in all the activities that they take part in. For their Unit Integration on Food, their facilitators set up a mini-market whereby students would be able to take on the roles of the buyer and the seller.

As part of their “Learning through Play” strategy, the students were set up with tables and snacks, and the other group of students would come with their currency and buy the food that they would want.

Not only does this instill in them good communication skills, for specific purposes like the market, but also helps them understand how food is bought and sold! The commercialization of food.

Definitely a complicated concept, made creative and interactive for the little ones to learn and understand.
