ARIS First World Cube Association Speed Cubing Competition

Apr 7, 2019

On 6th April 2019, ARIS held its very first World Cube Association (WCA) Speedcubing competition which was a huge success involving other students from other schools, plus our very own ARIS Speedcube Team. A big thank you to Ms. Pooja Gokaldas and World Cube Association for making it possible. The first Rubix cube being a Hungarian invention, our event was also graced by His Excellency, the Hungarian Ambassador to Ghana.

The whole event was organized around the gifted sets of youngsters who judged and competed at intervals and how! One of our PYP Students, Malek Hamoui also broke a national record by solving the Pyramix in less than 7 seconds! Can you imagine that?

We are also very proud of the ARIS Speedcube Team and two of the team members, Zain, and Anas for being in 2nd and 3rd place, respectively. This has been an immense opportunity for our ARIS students as well as all of the students present at the event, as it encouraged critical thinking, strategizing and of course, sportsmanship and a competitive spirit!

Looking forward to our other Speedcubing events!
