Congratulations Mr. Christopher Oppong!

Congratulations are in order for our Secondary Art Facilitator, Mr. Christopher Oppong, whose manuscript entitled “An Examination of the Production Processes of Brass Cutting among the Asantes: The Case of Krofofrom in Ashanti Region of Ghana”, has been accepted for publication in the American Journal of Art and Design.

This is the second time his research work has been published in the Journal and we cannot be more proud of him!

The main objective of the research was to study the cultural relevance and aesthetics of brass art in the Ashanti Region and the cultural elements encoded in the design concepts. The research was carried out in Krofofrom, where the art of brass cutting is common. Considering the fact that art in places like this is another opportunity to discover a lot of information, the design concepts interpreted by the culture of the indigenous people, are highly worth academic scrutiny. Together with his team, the research unearthed the fact that the people of Krofofrom have their design concepts influenced by their culture.

As a school that is very keen on integrating art in the learning journey of our students, we are so proud of Mr. Chris, and we look forward to more successes from the ARIS Community!
