Rachel French Comes to ARIS: Conceptual Understanding Workshop

Oct 15, 2019

One thing we believe in strongly as a school is that learning never stops!

No matter who you are, student or facilitator, we provide an environment where you are constantly learning and developing your skills to the point where you are able to transform the world!

Today, and for the rest of the week, our facilitators will be participating in a workshop with the Author of Concept-Based Inquiry and Director of Professional Learning International, Rachel French Learning About Concept Understanding.

Inquiry forms a big part of the learning process of an IB student as it pushes the child to develop his own perspective and understanding of topics and issues. However, in order to push the child to a deeper understanding of these topics, it is best that they move from a factual level of inquiry and thinking to a more conceptual level of thinking

Our facilitators had the opportunity to interact with and learn from Rachel French who took them through a series of strategies, illustrations, and activities that would equip them with the knowledge to ensure that understanding in our students is developed and transferable through concepts!

We are excited about all we learned from Rachel French and we cannot wait to apply them in our classes. Kudos to the coolest family ever!
