Words and Contexts - PYP Year 6 Inquiry into Words

Words help us express a lot of ideas in different contexts. The contexts of these ideas determine the vocabulary you would use. Our PYP Year 6 students collaborated and inquired into words and how they help us express a variety of ideas in different contexts. They worked together with their group members on different types of reading materials like fiction, explanatory texts, biography, autobiography, and informational texts, and identified the differences in the words they used. They also reflected as a class, on the similarities that these different reading materials had that helped the writers express their ideas.
