Memorial- Year 12 IBDP-1 and ARIS Remembers Malek Saleh Moussa

Feb 4, 2020

A year ago, our beloved friend, student, brother and son, Malek Saleh Moussa went to be with Allah, and today, a year later, his friends from Year 12, together with the entire ARIS Community came together to remember and celebrate his life.

The memorial was held at the Al-Rayan Secondary School Assembly ground and was attended by his family, Senior Management of ARIS, Faculty members and the entire student body. All came together to celebrate the life of a young man who was fondly remembered as full of potential, good-natured, always of a positive countenance and a true gentleman.

Memories from friends portray him as a funny yet serious boy who loved his class and school mates, holding doors for his mates and helping them be better versions of themselves even in the oddest way. His teachers remembered him as a student who taught them some life lessons even in the smallest ways. Mr. Annobil particularly remembered a phrase Malek was particularly famous for saying; EVERYTHING IS AWESOME! Amidst tears and heavy heart, our beloved Malek was celebrated with all the love and warmth from every single heart that attended.

Year 12, in addition, held a tree-planting ceremony with the family of Malek, planting a tree in his memory.

To Malek, we miss you, we still love you dearly in our hearts, we will always remember you, and May You Rest In Peace.
