From existing as Gold Coast in the past to the declaration of independence on 6th March 1957 by Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, ARIS brings to you a celebration of our existence as a people. Ghana.
The Glorious Ghana Concert, which took place today, 5th March 2020, recounted the story of Ghana, her struggles, her triumphs, and her culture. Students and facilitators presented snippet stories of Ghana’s past, present and future!
With collaborative inputs from the Dance, Drama and Arts Departments of ARIS, the entire student body enjoyed a myriad of musical Ghanaian-tailored performances that told a story of the rich cultural heritage and history of our country Ghana.
Parents and facilitators were present at the concert which was filled with a cultural display of music from the band, dances of the various ethnic groups in Ghana and folklore presented in the form of storytelling and music by our fantastic facilitators.
There was also a fashion show that showcased the evolution of fashion from the time of independence till now! In addition, the students had a blast trying to identify facilitators from their very old photos!
All in all the celebration of Ghana’s independence and her story should always remind us as a community to be forever inspired and empowered to make the change we want to see in our lives and in the country!
