Today, Lance King is in ARIS to take the MYP & IBDP Students and Parents through a series of workshops focusing on the Approaches to Teaching and Learning Skills.
Mr Lance King worked on exam success and ATL Skills, teaching the students confidence in their learning journeys while taking exams. He taught them how to strategize for exam success by using a positive attitude, knowledge of study habits, reframing adversity, and managing their time effectively.
The discussion was equally engaging for the parents as it was enlightening. They learnt that the skills that the IB provides students, such as critical thinking, research methods and social skills, are just as important as any other subject or course they choose to study in college. The benefit of using these IB skills when they go to university or work is that they can be expressed through whatever path they choose to follow in their future.
Lance King is an internationally recognized author, teacher and workshop facilitator who, in the last 27 years, has worked in over 300 schools in 37 countries with many thousands of students, teachers and parents. He is the creator of the Art of Learning programme taught to over 250,000 students worldwide and is a specialist in the direct teaching of 21st Century Skills. Within the International Baccalaureate Organisation, he designed and developed the Approaches to Learning (ATL) framework for the MYP and DP programmes which is currently being implemented in more than 4000 IB schools in 150 countries.
