ARISMUN- IMUNA Conference 2023, Netherlands

Participating in the XXIXth annual session of the IMUNA conference held at the  Murmellius Gymnasium in Alkmaar, The Netherlands, from June 9 - June 11, 2023,  was a fantastic opportunity for the ARIS delegation to debate through THIMUN procedures. Our delegation of 18 students, accompanied by three staff members, engaged in lobbying and merging and amendments of clauses and subclauses in resolutions in the following committees: Security Council. ECOSOC, GA1, GA3, GA4, North Atlantic Council, Disarmament Council, Special Committees 1 and 2, and the Historical Committee.

Seeing our delegates research and deliberate on issues ranging from human rights to environmental concerns was rewarding. Through this conference, our delegates have demonstrated several ATL skills, from self-management skills and communication skills to thinking skills; and they have emerged more confident, knowledgeable, and open-minded.

In addition to participating in the three-day conference, the delegation visited sites including The Upside Down Museum, the ARTIS zoo, and the Rijksmuseum, and took a canal cruise through the beautiful city of Amsterdam, where they learned about the rich history of the city. During the conference, the directors also had a 3-hour tour of the serene city of Alkmaar. 

Overall, the delegation had an amazing learning experience that enriched their cultural and global awareness, and provided a perfect platform to develop team building skills! We are very proud of the entire delegation and the hard work and effort they put into this exceptional event, and we commend all delegates including the award winners:
