We are excited to announce the publication of Sahar Azizi's groundbreaking research on the impact of parental attachment styles on the expression of personality traits among emerging adults. Sahar, an esteemed ARIS alumna, conducted this study as her final year dissertation project, and we are proud to share that it has been published in the prestigious Journal of Cognitive Sciences and Human Development.
Titled "The Impact of Parental Attachment Styles on the Expression of Personality Traits among Emerging Adults: A Study of UK University Students," Sahar's research sheds light on the crucial role that parental attachment plays in shaping personality development and interpersonal relationships during the transitional phase of emerging adulthood.

In this comprehensive study, Sahar explores the influence of parental attachment styles, such as secure, insecure, and avoidant, on the Big Five Personality traits, including openness, conscientiousness, agreeableness, and neuroticism. By employing a quantitative methodology and utilizing the Big-Five Inventory Scale (BFI) and The Adult Scale of Parental Attachment – Short Form, Sahar analyzed data collected from 184 UK university students.
Sahar's study provides valuable insights into the essential role of primary caregivers in shaping the development of their children, offering a deeper understanding of how personality traits manifest throughout the lifespan. This research serves as a catalyst for future investigations into personality manifestation during critical periods of human development.
